This simple weeknight recipe has all the fixings of a good home cooked meal
Salisbury Steak never tasted so good when using Weller Beef! Pair it with mashed potatoes or Rice
Ingredients
2 Tablespoons of Butter
Olive Oil
1-2 Large Onions, Sliced Thin
Salt and Pepper
1-2 Pounds of Local Ground Beef (Preferably Weller Beef!)
2 Table Spoons Worcestershire Sauce
1 Large Egg
1/2 Cup Oatmeal
2 Tablespoons of Ketchup
2 Tablespoons Flour
2 Cups Beef Stock
Directions
Brown onions in oil and butter until caramelized. Remove onions from pan and set aside
Combine Beef, Worcestershire Sauce, Egg, Oatmeal and Ketchup together and form 1/2 inch thick patties
Cook beef patties until mostly done. Remove from pan and set aside
Return onions to pan. Make sure you have several tablespoons of oil left in pan
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of flour over onions and oil and let bubble for a minute
Pour in 2 cups of beef stock while stirring to make a gracy
Add more stock if needed
Return beef patties to pan in the gravy and let simmer till ready to serve
Serve over mashed potatoes or rice
